I know it’s obvious, but this is my first post on my first blog. I’d thought about blogging for some time. I even have friends and family who have gotten into the blogging spirit, but it actually took a class to get me started. I expect I get a few friends wandering in, just to see what I say.  But I am still at a loss at how these blogs catch on and spread like wildfire around the blogosphere.

The hardest part of setting up this blog, besides getting used to talking to a computer screen, was thinking of a name. I bet you’re wondering… why Minty Musings? It all goes back to my love of all things minty: mint chocolate chip ice cream, peppermint tea, and Bath and Body Works mint shampoo. Plus, I have a thing for alliteration. Two irresistible items=a perfect combination just calling at me to include them in my title.

Because this blog all started for my Social Media class, you’ll see lots of posts related to my readings on all things social media, Web 2.0 and the like. But when someone like me gets a new toy, I just have to use it for all sorts of other things… my own interests, things I’m doing and all else going on in my life.
